A drone is not only a weapon for combatants in difference battle zones around the world. Here we have two fantastic ideas that will be used in short – I believe.
First one is a small drone with a built-in defibrillator and via a livestream video and audio connection, the drone can also provide direct feedback to the emergency services and the persons on site can be instructed how to treat the patient. The drone finds the patient’s location via the caller’s mobile phone signal and makes its way there using GPS. The drone can fly at around 100 km/h, weighs 4 kg and can carry another 4 kg. This idea comes from Alec Momont of TU Delft’s Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, that designed this for his graduation.
The second one is another very cool idea: A Drone ambulance. It’s designed by Argodesign and can go through urban environments faster and easier. It have place for one EMT (Emergency medical technician) and one passenger and driven by a GPS pilot or both. It can land nearly anywhere sized as a compact car, it can stabilises one patient, load him up and send him back to the hospital for further treatment.
