High level executives from leading global organizations will meet in Copenhagen to discuss the future trends of new product development.
Chaired by Dr. Al-Ashaab of Cranfield University, one of the highlights will be keynote presentations delivered by the Director, Front End Innovation from Tetra Pak, the CTO of Danfoss IXA, and the Director of Marketing, Market Intelligence & NPI of Philips Healthcare.
Another highly anticipated moment will be the session from EVP Engineering and R&D Services Sandeep Kishore from HCL Technologies, the fast-growing Indian company that announced this week at the World Economic Forum in Davos its intention to create 10 000 jobs within the next five years in Europe and the US.
In addition to these, there will be presentations from Scandinavian giants Arla Foods and Electrolux, PartnerTech, Arcoma, Grundfos, Cad-Q, Minerva, Nosco, IFS, GSK, and Volvo Cars.
Says Paul Isherwood, Director of Innovation, External Networks & Partnerships and presenter on behalf of GSK Nutrition: “The biggest issue for me when it comes to product development is the Technology Push vs Market Pull debate. So do you go down the push route driven by ideas or capabilities created by R&D in the absence of any specific need that customers may have or do you use the pull approach driven by user needs and demand rather than by the science or technology from R&D? Neither of these strategies is sustainable in isolation for the long term and there are inevitable tensions and consequences at the intersection.”
Paul summarizes by saying that, “…balancing this insight with the science is the only way to make money and achieve lasting commercial success, delivering new products faster, bigger and cheaper!”
NPD World Tour Scandinavia is taking place January 31st– February 2nd at the BellaSky Comwell in Copenhagen, and will be attended by over 100 registered NPD executives.
